A quiet moment in the Sisters' Studio

There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative. - W. Clement Stone

At the end of 2010 I made a little box and everything I thought was negative, past and present was written out and popped into the box, and I got rid of it. Now of course the question is what is positive or negative, because we are all so very different in our views and opinions, which is a good thing most of the time. We all perceive and have views that can be polar opposites.

However, for me if something makes me feel sad, makes me doubt who I am, then that would be negative. I think for the most part I relish the good in life and look for the positive in everything around me.

My mother in law is a valuable source of grounding for me. She just turned 89 yesterday, bowls and does all positive living activities. Had seven children, and fostered three other children, truly an example how to live and nurture family traditions and ideals. I am very fortunate to know her and listen to her wisdom. She was diagnosed with breast cancer after her first child (now in his 70's), it wasn't cancer but somehow she managed to go on and live. Now that is one positive attitude.

The little box is working out well, I don't own the contents, they are all external and not internal and doesn't have anything to do with me, I don't own it, I don't have to nurture negativity, and most of all when it goes in the box I no longer think about it. I wonder if my mother in law had a little box, I doubt it but I would love to know how she did it.
